This candidate is responsible for researching and developing new data mining algorithms, and extending or adapting existing algorithms, for autonomous agent bidding in on-line auctions. This candidate will be involved with applying data mining techniques and analysis to large datasets. Experience applying and interpreting statistical inference methodologies, decision trees, and other traditional data mining techniques is a must. Experience with large databases, SQL Server or Oracle is a must. The candidate should be able to develop robust and mathematically well-defined solutions to high stakes business problems. The candidate will provide technical leadership in the areas of data analysis, data mining, and statistics and will present results at domestic and international conferences. The candidate will provide an on-going technology assessment of the use of data mining/statistical data analysis and process automation.Qualified candidates will have at least 5+ years of experience applying data mining techniques to real world data and a MS in Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline, with a concentration in data mining. Alternatively, 1 year of experience and a PhD. in Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline, with a concentration in data miningThe candidate must have a proven ability to handle multiple projects or assignments simultaneously and strong communication, logical problem solving skills, and technical writing skills.
